Engineering the Quantum Stack: Quantum Software Engineering Frontiers (QSEF) is Now Accepting Submissions

2025-12-31

As quantum computing advances from theoretical promise to tangible hardware, the challenge of developing reliable, scalable, and efficient quantum software has come to the forefront. To address this critical need, we proudly launch Quantum Software Engineering Frontiers (QSEF), a journal dedicated to the emerging discipline of quantum software engineering.

QSEF focuses on the "full stack" above the hardware, providing a home for research that addresses the unique engineering challenges of quantum software: from architecture and programming to debugging, verification, and integration with classical systems. We aim to fill a distinct niche for research that is deeply technical and applied, yet distinct from core quantum physics.

The journal seeks original research on all frontiers of quantum software, including:

  • Quantum software architecture, design methodologies, and development tools.

  • Error mitigation, robust programming, and hybrid quantum-classical workflows.

  • Quantum compilers, debuggers, optimizers, and simulation environments.

  • Verification, validation, and formal methods for quantum programs.

  • Quantum-AI algorithms, machine learning frameworks, and practical applications.

The quantum revolution will be built by software. Contribute your research to QSEF and help lay the engineering foundations for the quantum era.
